Associate Degree Nursing Program

The division of Nursing offers an Associate in Applied Science degree in Nursing.  The nursing program is approved by the Arkansas State Board of Nursing and accredited by the National League for Nursing Accrediting Commission (NLNAC).  One class is admitted yearly in the fall semester only.  Throughout the program, general education courses and nursing courses are combined with client care in clinical settings such as hospitals and health care agencies.  The nursing courses integrate application of the nursing process, communication skills, nutrition, pharmacology, and drug administration in care of clients.  Legal/ethical responsibilities are also integrated.  The nursing courses are competency-based, and students are responsible for achieving certain competencies under specified conditions.  Upon successful completion of the program, the student is granted the Associate in Applied Science degree and may be eligible to take the National Council Licensure Examination for licensure as a Registered Nurse.  For more information contact Connie Ash at (870) 763-1486 or by e-mail at cash@anc.edu.
