COMMUNICATIONS & HUMANITIES |
The Communications and Humanities department is part of the Division of Arts & Sciences. It is the largest on campus and offers general education courses. Students that want to obtain transfer degrees will take English, Literature, History, Government, Music, Art, Speech, Psychology, and Sociology from this department. General Education courses are part of the ACTS transfer system and will transfer seamlessly anywhere in the state.
ANC's Music Department provides a wide variety of opportunities to both music majors and non-majors alike. We have multiple choirs available to students and community members. Each ensemble features a unique configuration of voices and offers an exciting opportunity for singers of all levels. Our ensembles perform throughout the year. ANC's Art Department provides students with the ability to explore art and express themselves creatively. Students can take classes like Drawing and Printmaking. Students have the opportunity to attend art shows, and have the work they create in local art exhibitions.
The Communications & Humanities Department offers Performing Arts Scholarships to students who have interest and potential in Art or Music. To qualify for these performing arts scholarships, a student does not have to major in art or music, but have the talent and desire to perform throughout art exhibitions and choral concerts. Energy Magazine
The English faculty work with students to create a yearly magazine - Energy - which includes creative writings, photography, and artwork by students. Be sure to check out all Energy magazines, current and past, on our Energy page!
SPARK Magazine
The Division of Arts & Sciences works with local elementary schools to create an annual magazine called SPARK, which includes creative writings, photography and artwork by our local elementary students. Check out current and past editions of SPARK!
