ANC FOUNDATION
The ANC Foundation is one of the most successful two-year college foundations in the state. It is directed by a Board of Governors with interest in providing Arkansas Northeastern College financial assistance. The Foundation directly helps students through a large pool of privately funded scholarships. Currently the ANC Foundation has well over $500,000 in endowed scholarship funds as well as many annually funded scholarships. Because many students' problems have financial implications, the Foundation works closely with the Financial Aid Office and the Admissions Office to help students remedy these problems. Hundreds of students are helped each year through ANC Foundation Scholarships.
The ANC Foundation also works to build friendships and support for ANC in the community by hosting activities and events each year. Such involvement also increases visibility and awareness of Arkansas Northeastern College and the many opportunities it makes available to the constituency it serves.

TAX BENEFITS
The Arkansas Northeastern College Foundation qualifies as a public charity under federal tax law. Thus, gifts made during a donor's lifetime will result in income tax advantages.
CONTINUITY
A gift establishing a permanent fund with the Arkansas Northeastern College Foundation will continue to benefit the community well into the future. The size of the fund can be increased at any time through additional gifts.
SECURITY
The ANC Foundation ensures the best use of each gift through the responsible investment policies of the Foundation's Investment Committee.
ACCOUNTABILITY
As a community college foundation, the ANC Foundation guarantees that funds will be used in the public interest. The Board of Governors is appointed from leaders of the region who understand the interest of non-profit organizations.
OPTIONS
Donors may designate the charitable purpose for which gifts are to be used, or they may leave all or part of the decision to the Board of Governors.
ETERNAL RECOGNITION
When establishing a significant fund, a donor has the opportunity to identify a fund with the name of the donor, a loved one, family member, friend, or an organization. Such funds are open-ended and may be increased at any time by additional gifts.

AMBASSADORS TO JAPAN PROGRAM
The Ambassors to Japan Program was born out of the Yamato Kogyo/ANC Foundation Scholarship Golf Tournament, which began in 1991. At that time, Mr. Hiroyuki Inoue, President of the Yamato Kogyo Company, wanted to do something in this area to show his appreciation for the people here.
In 1995, Mr. Inoue made an announcement at the tournament inviting students to visit Japan. It was his hope that the students would learn about the Japanese culture and bring that knowledge back to this area.
The first ambassadors traveled to Japan in 1996. Since its inception, several ANC students have traveled to Japan through this program.
SO, WHAT EXACTLY IS THE PROGRAM?
It's an opportunity for our students to travel to Japan for a two-week stay to learn about that country. The trip is totally paid for by the Yamato Kogyo Company with the ANC Foundation paying the airfare. The students usually travel in May immediately following commencement and jut prior to the summer semester.
Students stay in hotels, the Yamato Kogyo Dormitory, and the homes of Yamato Kogyo employees — to experience the Japanese way of life.
Once they return, the ambassadors are available to speak to classes and organizations, such as Rotary, about their travels.
While there, they truly are ambassadors not only for Arkansas Northeastern College or the state of Arkansas, but the United States.
HOW ARE THE STUDENTS SELECTED?
There is a fairly rigorous selection process. Students meeting the criteria are invited to apply.
The criteria includes:
3.0 GPA
Enrolled in (9) credit hours or more
30 hours completed
Planning to graduate from ANC
Ages 18-24
